Pre-Moving Stage
Q. Is the quote free?
A. We offer a free quote no obligations.
Q. If my move date changes is it possible to reschedule the date after I already booked?
A. As soon as you realize there may be a problem with your moving date, you need to contact Budget Movers office for a new pickup/delivery date.
Q. Do you provide a packing service as standard?
A. A separate quotation will be provided if you require a full packing, unpacking service. If your crew is unpacking, your items will be placed onto flat surfaces so you can decide where we will place the items in your new home.
Q. Can you transport pets to our new home?
A. We do not transport pets to your new home as we do not have the facilities.
Q. How can I prepare my children for a move?
A. We suggest that you should discuss the move well in advance) if possible) openly and frequently with the children and what it means to them. Keep to your normal routines as much as you can as this provides stability. Keep familiar items (toys, books, blankets) available. If possible, visit the new community with your children before the move. Above all, listen to what your children have to say.
Q. Do you move interstate?
A. Yes we do
During The Move
Q.Is it essential I am present during the pickup?
A.YES. We strongly suggest that you be present to identify which goods are staying and which are going, if you have boxes that are fragile to be pointed out, and to answer any questions.
Q. How is my furniture protected?
A. We have plastic wrapping in various sizes available to you for all your furniture if needed. However the furniture is professionally wrapped by our experienced movers with special thick moving blankets to ensure maximum protection to your belongings.
Q. What do we do when the movers arrive at our house?
A. At the beginning of the move you will be requested to sign the removal contract sheet as confirmation that you understand and agree to the terms of removal and that it is to your satisfaction. It is advisable that you escort the men around your property so that they can plan the operation. This is an important step. Make sure you point out any items that are fragile and need special care.
Q. What kind of insurance do I have?
A. Budget Movers will provide you with two insurance policies; cargo insurance for all your goods while loading/unloading and when in transit, and liability insurance for both pick up and drop off properties.
Q. What happens if something is damaged?
A. During delivery if you think that one or more of the items that we have moved has been damaged; note it on the removal Sheet BEFORE you sign it. This step will not be replaced by any other written or verbal step in the communication process. Pay your full moving cost. Upon receipt of your completed claim form, a customer representative will call within 2 business days to confirm its acknowledgement and discuss the issue.
Note: Any residential/property claims must be submitted in writing. DO NOT dispose of any damaged item before a Budget Movers representative performs a visual inspection. DO NOT replace or begin repair on any damaged item unless a Budget Movers representative or the hauling agent authorizes you to do so.
